If your building provides a public service and has a floor space greater than 1000m2, it is required to obtain a Display Energy Certificate (DEC) as well as an Energy Performance Certificate. As DECs are not issued in Scotland, public buildings with a floor space greater than 1000m2 require an EPC instead.
